I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how to export my archives to my hard drive in order to upload them to the new WordPress blog. I cannot find an export link on Movable Type. Is there a manual way to do it?

I can’t help you with uploading to WordPress, since I use a tool, the name of which prohibits me from posting comments here (but it rhymes with “logger”).
However, there is a very small free program called wget (available at http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/) that was written specifically for archiving whole web sites. I haven’t used it much, but it’s got documentation available on the site.
