Is there a danger in being similar to the Mormons who equate their book of Mormon at the same status of Scripture or Mary Baker Eddy’s science and health book with scripture? I know there’s a big difference and the Book of Concord is a great theological work and is a great witness to scripture but not Scripture. I feel this can lead to what Roman Catholicism did with Tradition and Scripture.
I say grab the Concordia self-study Bible and sneak in Luther’s small catechism

Cross Theology says, “I mean, you’ve got the Small Catechism to start with, which really is ALL the Scripture any one of us really needs to know.”
That’s a dangerous way to think. Wouldn’t it amount to taking away from Scripture?
Great question Tim. I’ll refrain from speaking. 🙂
Phil,
What do you mean “taking away from Scripture”?
