I don’t know, but it seems a little absurd to criticize Homeland Security for not doing something about the hurricane. What are they supposed to do, arrest the hurricane before it hits American shores? It’s all so much Monday-morning quarterbacking. (By the way, what were the Seahawks doing?) Problems are apparent: people died, levees broke, evacuations did not happen. But it is not good enough to point fingers and appoint another worthless commission to “investigate”. I think the 9/11 Commission has an over-inflated sense of its own worth.
Help people now. Learn from mistakes later. Don’t trust politicians to do everything for you, ever.
