I’m not trying to beat a quickly dying horse or anything (somehow I think this isn’t going away anytime soon), but I think it’s profitable to look at how many non-Lutherans are talking about the loss of Issues, Etc.

And, if you haven’t seen it, here’s KFUO’s single (uninformative) paragraph on canceling the show [via Putting Out the Fire (and elsewhere)]:
“For programmatic and business reasons, the decision was made this week to discontinue the “Issues, Etc.” program on KFUO-AM.We look forward to bringing you new programming in this time slot in the near future. Also, we thank “Issues” host Rev. Todd Wilken and producer Mr. Jeff Schwarz for their years of service on behalf of the station. Those interested may still download past “Issues, Program Etc.” programs from the “Issues” archive on this website. Thank you sincerely for your continued support of KFUO’s radio ministry.”
And, finally, something from Horn+Swoggled.

Meanwhile, an online petition has been started up about Issues, Etc. being ended. I don’t know how much good it will do, but it should be able to do some. it certainly can’t hurt to put your name down. Here’s the link:

For anyone who comes across this and has Facebook, a lot of discussion it seems is going on at the “Bring back Issues ETC!!!” Facebook group.

Finally, financial help for the Schwarz and Wilken families can be sent to the following address. Just put in the memo line that it’s for the “Schwartz/Wilken Fund”. The Schwarzes especially need the help and Rev. Jack Schwarz’s wife Beth has been recently diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy and they need to go to Mayo Clinic to try figuring out what can be done.

I will be continuing to post information and resources relating to the cancellation of Issues, Etc. and firing of Rev. Wilken and Mr. Schwarz. So, if you could please help me draw people to the resource of my blog, I would really appreciate it.

And don’t forget about we Reformed and Reformed Baptists over here;

Be ye Reconciled is run by a broadly reformational Christian with a Bible Church background. Ex-evangelical.
Bill,
This is Mike Ratliff from Possessing the Treasure. The focus of my blog is the Gospel from a Reformed Baptist perspective. However, I have many Presbyterian brothers and sisters in Christ. In any case, please continue to pursue why this show was taken off the air. Something egregious is afoot.
In Christ

Thanks for the link, I reciprocated. This situation has me pulling my hair out, what’s left of it anyways.
You should add First Things to your list.

Issues Etc. is no more
In an inexplicable and unexplained move, the LCMS has canceled its daily talk radio program Issues, etc. Issues used to be broadcast on the LCMS’s AM radio station 820 KFUO in St. Louis.
Hi! I am a Reformed Anglican and a HUGE fan of Issues, Etc. I am blogging about this topic and have banners designed for anyone who’d like to copy and use them on their blog, Web site, etc. Thanks!!

James White’s mentioned it at aomin.org, too.
